Man... I keep putting this offI'm really sorry you guys haven't heard from us in a while, but I've been putting this off for far too long.First, an apology: sorry about being so long to post this. Okay. Secondly: Yeah, we're on hiatus. It's somewhat obvious for now, but with the fact that Ian has an actual job and stuff, he can't man the visofuturactor device with the care that one needs to properly tune it. He wants to continue it, he just can't find the time. Anyway.. I'm sure that when we get back to it'll be announced on all of our sites. At least you guys can play CMC in the meantime, it has Starsomething cards. Blasting off at ludicrous speed, webrunner. |

A year is to long. It's been more then that. You're not on a hiatus; you've got a discontinued comic that you might consider reviving some time in the future.
now now, don't be like that.
sure it's gone some time, but he has intent of reviving it. and hopefully he will do that to. so don't be a meany.
and lets pray to god that Ian get's out of the wagon.
All we can do is hope that Ian gets fired.... so come on everyone, if everyone wishes real hard that Ian gets fired and fails at being a regular human.... we can get our comics back! :D
Or... we could just hope that he, like most other people at work, become lazy enough to do other things at work, but not too lazy to lose their jobs. That way he might do comic stuff at work, and keep it too!
Because, you know, if he loses a job, he'll become depressed, probably won't do a comic, and start spending his time searching for more accursed jobs.
Omg, some news!
To bad it sucks.
Anyways, news are news.
This is good. It shows intent and/or progress. Atleast something got up. Be glad that there are news. The site could've just as quick gotten torn away from the interwebb, but now there is a hope, small but still, a hope.
Let Ian live his life as he please and hopefully he will be pleased by drawing on Starsomething again in the future.
And to Ian I only have to say that you have a group of fans for a comic that hasn't even started yet. Please be kind and give an update. Even one a month would make, alteast, me glad. Please think about it.
--- Sile
Come on Ian, how bout a Christmas special? And then like... update every holiday. That couldn't be too hard ey? Please, honestly, we'll take anything. Bi-Monthly. If you get tired, I'll draw half the comic for you. Please, anything, please.... (and could you at post like your script or plans for the end of rpg world too? I want to hear the end)
I'm just glad there are going to be random comics. Like someone said before, we'll take anything.
Even a doodle of Dark Lord Pony in a bonnet. (Well, I would. It would be funny...)
HN
Very well, marry x-mas, what ever planet your on...

OMG, he went straight to plaid!
Please forgive the next comment, for I have yet to see any one-line comments in its style.
HOLY F***ing F*** C*** an update!!11forty-two!1one!
To Sile:
Merry Christmas to you too! And I don't live on another planet...I just have a whacked sense of humor!
Love,
Head Ninja
PS> And a Happy New Year! From me and all the ninjas! ^^
(I'm joking of course. I think...)
I am shocked and slightly amused, but I am still disappointed.
I'm glad to hear that Starsomething wasn't just abandoned!
-Elderwyrm
Thank you, head ninja, happy new years to you too.
I wish you a productive one, Ian.
But do it in your own pace.

It Lives? there is hope afterall! joy.:)
why do you even keep coming here... it's obvious that there won't be a revival for so,e time yet, 'cause... you know... they've bewen doing this for a while... particularly Ian. (you know what i mean, saying they will do their comics and not even posting a blog)
but i am aware that ian is busy...
so shoot me.
Hello, I hope you will not go the way of the fallen comic. That is, you start updating irregularly, have something major happen, then go on temporary hiatus, quit. GO NOT THE WAY OF SQUIDI, OR RPG WORLD!
Even if the comic is dead.
Even if Ian would be eaten by a huge monster.
Even if people complain.
One thing is sure.
Everyone which checks into here every once in a while does so by their free will.
They are not forced in anyway.
So why do you complain and whine about things that is not yours to complain about. I won't force you to check into here if you don't want to. But why not come here once in a while and see if something happens?
Who knows, something good might happen.
You could always hope anyways...

Did anyone notice that the URL for starsomething now includes comicgenesis instead of keenspace? Is the hosting changing or something?
I think keenspace turned into comicgenesis or some crap. I don't really know.
Well Webs, good for you on getting some news up; I honestly didn't see this until now. Best of luck to you both.
-Saber in Blue, first Anonymous to post in the previous entry.
Keenspace had its name changed to avoid confusion with Keenspot (they're owned by the same company, or one's owned by the other, or something). On another note...here's to another year until the next newspost! *Clink*
No, no, don't hope that Ian gets fired or anything. Hope that he inherets a massive amount of money from a wealthy, previously unknown uncle, enough money that he never ever needs to work again, with the will's sole proviso being that to keep it he must continue to produce Starsomething.
we need to force bill gates to sign a paper that he will will everything to Ian, and then kill him claiming it were an accident... no wait... let's resign the paper to me :D
then nothing more then silence
There's no silence.
I'm still here.
Ohhh! He's even got a JOB now? And here I thought he was just in college! Well, I'mg lad he's off and making money, but it's a terrible, terrible shame that the web-comicing isn't being done so much. But I still love ya guys.
-Jula
yey, it lives.
(not the comic, the comment-list)
wow... it lives....
too bad that was 2 months ago :(
No chance of Ian coming back whatsoever. He dropped all of his other comics and projects all together, why the hell would he come back to this?
Better for webrunner to get another artist, or for him to draw it himself on a once a week, or once a month basis.
Otherwise, it would probably be best to just say the comic is dead period.
That's a good advice. I would be ready to start drawing on this if someone is willing to give me a script.
here's some of what I draw already (no comix but anyways)
http://paranoidrabbit.deviantart.com/
if nothing else. it's an advice that that webrunner should listen to.
//sile
Yeah, I agree. Ian has abandoned RPG World, his figurative "baby" because of burnout due to work related stress. I think it's pretty safe to say this project is discontinued as well.
Webby is almost done with adventurers, right? Maybe he can start drawing StarSomething.
damn, even the posting here has stopped. . .
so sad. . .
Oh noes, and we are'nt even up to 500 yet. KEEP POSTING!! SPAM WELCOME!! or well, hopefully not put here, but well ehm. post something...
// sile
Indeed, keep posing.
The comments must never die.
Additionally, will somebody please continue this already?
Ah, couldn't resist. If you guys don't want to do it, that's fine.
Soooo....
How about them Nix?
ehm, well. I think it would be better if we have a subject to discuss.
How about:
?WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?
ergo, what will happen in the next strip, write your theory and start talking.
If anyone is interested in drawing a fan comic or any kind of comic really, email me at (Sigh, helllllo email machines) captains_log@hotmail.com.
Thanks anyone who does it.
They'll never get it done. I'm tired of being lied to by comic artists. Ian, stop saying you're going to continue your work and then not. Just stop. You really piss me off. Fuck you Ian. Fuck you.
Captain asshole strikes again! Really, folks, stop being unreasnable, stop being jerks, and stop acting like you know what you're talking about. Ian has a life, and it includes alot more than RPG world and Starsomething. If you have a problem with the fact that he wants a place to live and food on the table, and can't suit your every webcomic need, well then go back to the hell that spawned you, cuz we sure dont need your asshole self here.
They have lives, I understand that, but don't you think it would be nice for them to stop by and say "hi" once in a while. I mean it’s only polite, but keeping promises is far better then saying something along the lines of "oh sorry I'm too busy right now.” Then again with out us, the devoted fans, they would be nothing…NOTHING! MAWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…
True, but which one would you rather be? The dog that saves a cat from drowning or the dog barking at a tree? I'm sorry but there are no cats to be rescued here. Why do you keep barking?
Everyone here knows that it's unlikly that he will continue his work but we wait as we hope that he will put up a new page.

So quiet...
Wow, even the comments are slowing down, this is sad.
"anonymous doesn't exist"
"well, he doesn't"
"nor does he forgive"
No one can read My thoughts.
Mjau mjau mjau mjau
mjau mjau mjau mjau
mjau mjau mjau mjau
mjau mjau mjau mjau
*sniff* its over. . . so sad
I guess this comic really is over... Ian, if you see this. please give us the news on RPGWorld. and Mark if you see this, great job on adventurers.

Approaching the 1 1/2 year anniversary of SS's death...am I the only one who thinks IanJ is a prick for not telling us he was dropping all of his internet stuff? I can understand not wanting to make comics anymore. Fair enough. You only ever did it for the enjoyment of others, you have no obligation to us. But it's just commonc courtesy to actually tell us you're just stopping. I'd by much less annoyed if he'd at least pulled a Men in Hats.
He did tell us, in his RPGWorld site. Not to mention his sketchy comic updates for the past few years, it's no surprise something this will happen. Starsomething is a casualty of progress.
Now that webrunner has a job, there's no hope of this getting off the ground, even with a partner. He has too much on his plate to deal with this.
*salutes Dash and the crew*
*fires the canons as they are lowered into their coffins and sent out into space*
Why do all my comics die? Why?!?!?!?
This is post #56
Sadness, not only did the comic die, but the comments died aswell.
not that suprising. if people have nothing to talk about, why talk?
once again...my view...
i dont agree in being so harsh, but you cant let them off easy either...
Ian's job cant be the most time consuming and stressful job in the world...most people i know that work long hours at very hard jobs play hours of mmorpgs or maintain websites or draw/write comics or other very time consuming things...why cant the comics return, but maybe with a MUCH longer time between updates? it doesnt have to be daily/weekly even! making promises you dont keep is one thing, making ones you CANT keep is another, but then its the ones you know you just WONT keep...like what we've been hearing about SS and RPG World...but oh well...it is just comics isnt it? its not a service to people is it? without the readers, it would've never been what it was...and Ian forgets that...RPG World doesnt have to have the HUGELY drawn out ending that adventurers is apparently having...just end it...you can end it with not too many more panels actually...dont drag it out, but just be done with it...
Its a webcomic guys, get over it. If they dont update it. Darn too bad it was a good comic and the fact that it cant continue is a sad thing. BUT it is still a FREE service they were running and are under no obligation to continue. Get. Over. It. I certianly hope that things pick up for Ian in the future.
6/29/06
random cheak up...
and we arn't even close too 500 posts
Check up date. Still no new comic. Webby has been slow on updating his other comics, so I thought something would be here.
I would just like to say...it was fun while it lasted...and...it should have lasted longer.
what's with people? sure the comic has stopped ages ago, does that have too stop us from using this here thingie to bother other people? well, probably. but I wanna bug people anyway. c'mon don't be such bores.
Helloooooooooo...is there anyone out there?????????????
*nothing but silence*
sooooooooooo. . . . whats up?
I will answer it becuase I CAN!!! ... ... well, it's fine.
I've had a productive day and will hopefully get a productive evening. I am to draw a page or two more of the project I'm working on and add some text to the synopsis, but anyway.
You?
//sile
p.s oh, and my comic is to be updated tomorrow.
